How is Harbin current climate?

Hi. Will be going to Harbin during end of Dec this year. Heard that the climate there this year has became warmer. Would like to ask those who currently live in Harbin what is the climate there now? Has the ice-sculpture things begin preparation already? Heard that these process will not begin if the temperature is not cold enough.

The ice-sculpture is the main thing that attract us to go there. If we are not able to see them during this period (17Dec-25Dec), we may consider to change course.

Hi,

I am in Harbin now. The temp over the last few days had been pretty cold. Between minus 6 to minus 15 Deg C. Today is a little warmer.

Preparation for ice carving is on the way now. The Tourism Authority is waiting for colder temp over the next 1-2 weeks before they start 'harvesting' the ice blocks from Songhua River. The Ice & Snow Carving Festival starts on 22 Dec.

I am in Harbin.It may be not as cold as what you thought.It is -10c to -17c today.
The Ice & Snow Festival will start on Jan. 5th,2008 as usual.If you read Chinese,Please visit http://www.harbin-ice.net/

at this time getting cold harbin famous travelling place in china rely on ice-sculpture .
