Pulau Bintan Bintan Hotel's facilities- firefly tour & horse riding???
Posted: Tue November 27, 2007 05:39 AM UTC
I m considering going to Bintan early nxt mth...but the hotel rates are abit high, range from $400-500.*ouch*

Nirvana beach, its pretty cheap but jus worried about the quality of hotel. Love the idea of Bintan Lagoon, but I tink rates are 500bucks, but it has the firefly tour and horse riding??

Anyone know whether it is possible to go for these kinda Firefly tour if we stay at Nirvana beach? Are the resort close to each other? Is bintan a small little island by itself and nothing much and must stick to the resort u are in? Then wont it be nothing to do if ur resort has no facilities??

Sorry ask so many questions...Thanks in advance for your replies!!! :D

HI!

I'll like to invite you to have a look at my P.Bintan pages and see if the tips are useful.

The island is Indonesian but is "carved" into 2 portions. The resorts belong to a private consortium and owns the northern part of the island. In this portion, there are no public services to get around as the resorts are meant for you "to get away from it all".

The resorts do run day tours so you may wish to check with them or check out the website: http://www.bintan-resorts.com/brcms/

The Nirvana Beach Resort is on the lower end while the Bintan Lagoon is on the higher end. Both are situated at different parts of the northern shore of the island and unless there is some free resort shuttle service, there is no way you can travel between the 2.
