I'll be staying at the Hard Rock Hotel in January 2008 and would like to go to daily Mass, walking if possible. Where's the nearest Catholic Church?

Not sure where the Har Rock is but this is the san Diego Archdiocese website with a map of Parishes.

Our Lady of Guadalupe is at 1770 Kearney Ave, about a mile away.

There are three Roman Catholic churches in the downtown area and the closest one to the Hard Rock Hotel is St. Joseph's Cathedral at 1535 Third Avenue. It is just over a mile from your hotel. Daily Mass: 7:00 am and at noon.
Our Lady of Guadalupe on Kearney, is about a mile and a half from your hotel and the walk getting there, is through a rougher neighborhood than most tourists would feel comfortable exploring. Daily Mass: 8 am and 7:30 pm (in Spanish) The third is Our Lady of the Rosary and it is almost two miles away on Columbia Street. Daily Mass: 7:30 am and noon
