Hi, the total 6 of us will climb the KK Mt the coming March. Anyway, just notice that 1 of my friend has ashma...is her still encouraged to climb the Mt?
Is it dangerous coz as i know the air will get thinner up at the mountain....any precautions we can take??? In the case like part of us unable to continue the journey, is it better for us to get 2 or more mountain guides? Thanks..... |

It is a straight climb by steps all the way to the top. You need to stay overnight along the way. Getting medical attention will be difficult. Better for your friend not to take the risk as it will be a danger and incovenience to her and others. The Kinabalu Park at the base before the climb is nice and cool to chill out. Just my non-medical opinion.

as slyvia has commented, it is best to get a doctor's advice... and make sure that you have the necessary medical insurance as evacuation from mt kinabalu will be expensive... even helicopters will have problem getting you out of the mountain surface... ~chia
