Our government discourages us from going to the Chittagong Hill Tracts. How is the situation right now?

Hi, 1st of all thanks for your interest to visit Bangladesh.
yes, most of the western countris Govt. discourage to visit Hill tract area. But the situation in this are is quite good to visit. firstly you have to take an advance permit from Bangladesh govt, before visit that area. If you are not interested to visit much remote places in hill tract then its ok to visit. Now in recent days there are many foreigner visiting this area even in remote places, but no such bad reported. yes, no one can gurantee about the "accident" if anything hapend. my advice is, you can visit any town and around on hill area without fear. If there are any bad situation arrise,, local security (police) will not allow you to go or visit such places in hill. dont hesitate to contact with me, if you have any further to know about to visit hill arae, i will be glad to inform you at my best.
