I'm not too good on things to do with a 2-year-old. They seen to like a lot of action. One thing you all might enjoy is the cable car to the citadel on the hilltop. They are bubble cars so you can see all around including the city and the surrounding mountains. It is a fabulous view and I think any child would be enchanted. There is free parking near the Hotel de Ville and you can walk toward the river where you will immediately see the little bubbles going up whilst crossing the river. Easy to follow them to the base.
The Beaux Arts is excellent but I'm not sure a small child would enjoy it. There are some wondrous modern pieces a little one might enjoy though in the modern part.
Have fun. BTW, the parking lot won our prize for the world's most beautiful parking lot. It's filled with trees and flowers, depending on time of year, of course.
