Hi, Myself and my boyfriend are planning a trip to antartica this december/ january. We are on a trip around south america and are on a budget so wish to do a last minute trip from Ushaia. Can anyone advise on this? Ive heard its been done before but im wondering is there a particular time thats cheaper or easier to get on a boat last minute. Were quite flexible with our time so we can wait for later in the season if possible. Also can anyone recommend a company that do last minute deals?
Any information would be helpful. Thanks. R |

There is a travel agency in Ushuaia I bought my ticket from early November to go to Antarctica. I got a last minute deal for USD 4.000 . Based on what we saw in Ushuaia in Dec 2007 you won't save a huge amount on a last minute deal. I saw deals offered for 4000 USD per person, a saving of 500 on our price. However, many of these last minute deals are for triple cabins, as most of the doubles tend to be sold out. If you were travelling solo I'd advise going for the last minute deal, if you're hoping for a double, I'd advise booking in advance.
