Planning a trip to Indonesia in mid April 2008. We will be stayig in Bali for about 3 weeks.We will then fly to Yogakarta and area, after touring the nearby sites we hoped to be able to make our way to Carita and then take a tour to Anak Krakatau. Could anyone give me directions on how to travel to Carita from Yogyakarta. Does anyone know or have experience with a reputable and safe guide.Is it possible to charter a helicopter to fly us out there. Any information at all would be extremely helpful

I do not think one can charter a helicopter to Carita or Krakatau. If money is no problem, you best fly from Yogyakarta to Jakarta and there hire a car with driver to Carita. In Carita you can charter a speedboat to Anak Krakatau. Some time ago the volcano was active and you were not allowed to set foot on the island. I do not know whether things ara back to normal by now.

I don't know whether Anak Krakatau Mountain already allow to visit since it had small eruption few weeks ago
You can watch Anak Krakatau from Tanjung Lesung Beach. From There you can rent a boat to take you to Anak Krakatau
