The ship is listing badly, and all passengers and crew have abandoned ship. All have been taken on board a Norwegian ship - anyone know if this is the Fram or Nordnorge?

This is also the second accident in two years (Nordnorge ran aground last yeasr at Deception Island). Do you think this might have any repercussions for tourism in the area - if the Explorer sinks, what impact will it have on the local environment?

According to the latest CNN-News it is the Nordnorge.

I think the ship is Nordnorge. This ship was the same that came help Nordkapp at Deception Island at 31Jan07 when she hitted at Rvan Rock. With the HMS Endurance she was the first entered at Deception Island to help the Nordkapp. After came Nordnorge to take all passenger to Ushuaia in three day trip in a stormy sea. What kind an object make this double hull ship sunk and what speed was the ship? Didn't they use the radar?

RIP little red ship. I travelled on the explorer to Antarctica 2 years ago. It is very sad to think that this is the end of the little red ship after many years of it travelling around the world.
