Hi all,

I want to jump on a bus, go to Cordoba, drop into a hostel and enjoy my time. Then, when I feel like it, jump on another bus and go somewhere else. No hassles wanted, but am I just dreaming?

In a more clear form: Are reservations necessary for buses and hostels?

I would appreciate any light you can shed...

Speaking of buses, of course it depends to where, but if you want to go to a near province, say Mendoza, you should find more than a bus company, and more than one dayly service.

I plan to roam around Cordoba/Salta/Jujuy from 5/12 - 21/12. (2 weeks)

Then in Mendoza/Bariloche/Patagonia from 25/1 - 22/2. (1 month)

People here use to (or are given ) summer vacations beggining in 1st-2nd of January and February; but also by midd-month (for example, vacations are given from 1 to 14, or from 15 up to 30 of January and February.
Not a lot of problems up to dec. 21 (most people in the country travel to visit relatives from that the 22 or 23 till New Year).
Most probably, in Bariloche you will have some problems trying to find room in hostels in the dates you give. Try to reserve if possible.

I got a lot of information on bus connection between cities, from different bus companies. Ask me if you need company names o number of dayly servicies.
