| Verona | verona guided city tours Posted: Mon November 19, 2007 11:13 PM UTC
Hello
My name is Lizzie and a friend and I will be in Verona from 19th-21st December and were wondering what guided tours are available there at that time of year? We are both students so are looking for something affordable but interesting. Any information or prices of differeing tours would be greatly appreciated. :) |

Lizzy -
I am not certain about a guided tour but verona is a very easy city to read up on and get around - try a guide book on verona such as Bonechi Edizioni "il Turismo" or Rick Steves - a good contact for you and a great and reasonably priced place to stay (which is mentioned in rich steve's Italy and section on Verona is with Federica deRossi (info @l'ospite.com) - she is very helpful, the place is within an easy walk across a bridge into the heart of verona. Some things want to see - The Arena Piazza Bra Piazza Erb Castelvecchio The house of Romeo The house of Juliet complete with the balcony Churches

Hi Lizzie
We have just been to Verona and we explored it ourselves without a guide--it is a walking city the pink marble architecture and cobbled streets are lovely. Romeo & Juliets balcony is a must and we found the most romantic little cafe/restaurent with old fashioned service in the first street at the entrance to the old city. This is a lovely region to self explore.Have fun. Dorrise & Rex
