Same plans here. Tabasco government office tells me that roads between Campeche and Villahermosa are open and safe, but had no comment on Villahermosa to Palenque yet. Up country towards San Cristobal obviously not going to be a prob.

Are you going to Villahermosa and Palenque, San Cristobal? If so, which hotels are you staying? We had reserved one but with the flood we had to canceled that one. So we have not decided it which ones have the best deals for Tabasco. and for for Chiapas, they are lots of choices but we don't know yet.

sorry i can't contribute to your discussion, but have a big plea:

when do you return from your trip?
could you please leave a message here on what the roads were like?

we've hired a car and are supposed to be driving through this area in the beginning of january.

I'd very much appreciate your help!

thanks a lot!

Major highways will be passable and bus transportation is operating almost normally on those routes. I suggest staying away from the interior of the city of Villahermosa, because there's been lots of flood damage. Palenque and las Casas suffered no damages.

sure no problem. We will rent a car in Villahermosa and travel tru Tabasco, Chiapas and Campeche from Dec. 7 to Dec 23. So we'll have a better view of the situation. Just in case, my email is babyboybarrueta@gmail.com I check my emails there more often. Adios
