Driving up to Ipoh From Singapore

Has anyone driven from Singapore to Ipoh? How long roughly will it take? Driving from 2nd Link.

From Spore to KL will take you about 4 to 4.5 hours assuming you drive at the normal speed of about 100km per hour. From KL to Ipoh takes about 1.75 to 2 hours. Road is good all the way. Do not speed as quite a lot of speed traps nowadays.

sorry victor but 4.5 hrs is a bit too optimistic if you drive at an average speed of 100kph... from spore to klumpur will take about 3.5hrs and another 2hrs from klumpur to ipoh... i used to drive klumpur-senai (toll-to-toll) in 3hrs within speed limit of 110kph... i drive both klumpur-jbaru and klumpur-ipoh often...

So roughly about 6-7 hrs from singapore to ipoh...
A few more queries:
1) I made a mistake... the destination is Taiping not Ipoh. Can I get there in about the same time assuming I drive within the speed limit of 110km/hr?

2) Which exit do i take from the main Highway?

you can reach taiping from the malaysian side of the second link (after the checkpoint)in about 7 hrs... i said malaysian side as i do not know what the traffic condition will be like at the checkpoint... sometimes on peak period, you can take up to 2 hrs just to clear the checkpoint...
