We are going to Albufeira for 5 days next week. I was wondering what activities people would recommend at this time of year? And any particular bars or restaurants that we should try?

Ask around and find out if the Gypsy market is still on Saturdays. I think it is on the outskirts of Lagos. You might find some unique Christmas gifts. Also the farmers Market on Saturdays in (I think) Loule is one of the better ones.
Make sure you rent a car and get lost everyday. The Algarve has so much to see and do. Have fun!
