Havana Taxi from Havana to Vinales
Posted: Sat November 17, 2007 05:08 PM UTC
Hi all. Visiting Cuba for the first time in February for my friend's 50th birthday. The plan is to head straight out to Vinales on arrival but we don't get in until late afternoon so will miss the bus. Does anyone know if it is possible to get a taxi for 4 adults and 1 child and how much this will cost or would we be better off waiting until the next morning and taking the bus. We only have 2 weeks so don't want to waste any time. Thanks - any advice much appreciated.

Yes you can find a taxi for 4 adults and a child. I dont know how much it will cost you..best to ask before get into the taxi and if its too much try a different taxi.

The taxis compete with the buses for tourist passengers so you should be able to negotiate. The shared taxis between Havana and Trinidad (which is further than to Vinales) is $25 per person and the same as the Viazul coach. I hope this gives you some sort of idea.

Thanks for your reply that's really helpful. I have had a look at your Cuba pages and made some notes for things to take. Sounds like you had a great time, we are all now quite excited about our trip. Thanks again.

I must make some time to add and update my pages. I've added a bit to my packaging list, but wasn't allowed to put much more as I exceeded the number of words allowed. One thing that is easy to take for people as it's not too heavy are cooking herbs and spices, particularly cumin, coriander (celantro) and turmeric. Anything you are able to take for people there will be appreciated. Have a great time - I'm sure you will.
