I will be traveling from BA to Colonia for a day and then taking a bus to Montevideo, does anyone know where I can store my bags for a couple of hours?

I didn't need stored-luggage facilities in Colonia and didn't check them out. But my guidebook indicated that the municipal tourist office "may be willing to keep an eye on your bag." They are a very worthwhile first stop to plan your visit to Colonia so I recommend that you start there and ask about left luggage.
The municipal tourist office is at Avenida General Flores 499, corner Rivera, EAST of Barrio Historico and within walking distance.

Hi,
You can leave it at the bus station. First thing to do when you arrive to Colonia is to buy the bus ticket to Mvdeo., and they will keep you luggage for free. Enjoy, Rafa
