first night in Guilin?

We will arriving at Guilin airport at 19:25. I've heard it's nicer to stay in Yangshuo, but is it worth the 1 1/2 hour transfer so late at night?

Any recommendations for a place to spend the first night in Guilin, approx 200RMB? Do most hotels pick up at the airport and what is the average cost?

Well I was thinking we land at 19:25. By the time we get our bags and whatnot it will probably be 20:30 so we won't arrive to Yangshuo till 22:00 earliest. Will things (cafes ect) still be open?

Agree with Elysee...go down to Yangshuo. It is much nicer. There are buses going from Guilin to Yangshuo all the time.You could even organise a taxi pick up from the airport to your hotel. That way you don't have to worry about catching busses etc.

We stayed at the Paradsea/Paradise which is about a 3/4 star hotel..suited us fine. You'll have to check the current rates on their site but you could also email them in terms of taxi pickup.
