Cape Town 3 days, 4 nights capetown,What have we left off we need to do?
Posted: Wed November 14, 2007 01:13 PM UTC
we are spending 3 full days in cape town and 4 nights. What to do? Here is what we have at this point:
-Tuesday afternoon we are touring Robben island and a helicopter ride.
-Wednesday: morning half-day wine tour
Would love suggestions on restaurants and shopping, and then what to do on Thursday. Thinking of renting a car on Thursday, but not sure where to go. Do we have time to to table top Tuesday morning or wednesday afternoon?

We are a young thirties couple who loves chic spots with great food and wine. Also maybe recommend some cool bars. I have seen suggestions for a place to watch the sunset at a bar and would love to do that, but can't recall what it is.

Also, we are staying at the 12 apostles.

Thank-you!!

Hi
Ok- Im also in my 30's and love chic spots:

12apostles is a great hotel- they have a stunning spa- so treat yourself to something there if time permits. The Waterfront has good shopping Walk shopping centre (on the way back from the wine farm- very big though). You need about 3 hrs to do table mountain - it must be on a lovely day.

Your hotel is a few minutes from Camps bay beachfront- very cool spots there- cafe Caprice (cocktails or meals) The sand bar -lunch. Further along the coast towards the Waterfront - WAKAME - Hip happening- ESPECIALLY the roof top bar for sundowners- accross the rd, Pepenero restaurant. And my all time favourite- 70's style yet ever so popular with the local chicsters- la perla on the beach front in Sea point. another great sunset bar is - at the Radisson hotel (right by the Wterfront- esp on a friday) good luck u gonna love it

We stayed at the 12 Apostles last November on our honeymoon. We absolutely loved it. The restaurant at the hotel was fantastic. We ended up eating there twice. We had a room overlooking the water so we liked to order wine and an appetizer or dessert and eat it while watching the sunset. Where are you going for your wine tour? To Stellenbosch or Franschhoek or to Constantia? One of the best restaurants in the area is in Constantia. As for other restaurants, we did go to Blues in Camps Bay but while the food was good the service was so so and we did not have a table next to the windows. Our best meal in Cape Town was Emily's at the VA Waterfront. We liked the shopping at the Waterfront and were able to find and ship home a lot of South African souvenirs. We also liked 35 Keeroom. Definately try to do Table Mountain and maybe go to see the penguins instead of the helicopter ride.

For places to eat I'd recoment Theo's steakhouse, there's 1 in Camps Bay and another in Moullie point. If you fancy some decent Thai food, Yindees on Kloof St is the best in Cape Town. For Pizza, Postichino's on Sea Poin main road is among the best pizza's I have ever had.
Caprice is a trendy bar on the camps bay strip, if you are in CT on a Sunday Afternoon get yourself down to La Med for some alfresco drinks overlooking the ocean. Balducci's at the waterfront is also quite a nice place to eat as is the Cape Town fishmarket.
Quay 4 at the waterfront has a cover band at weekends and is normally a good evening out for drinks & pub grub, there is a nice sea food restaraunt upstairs whose name escapes me.
