| Tamarindo | Casa Palombia/Playa Flamingo Posted: Tue November 13, 2007 09:13 PM UTC
Looking for feedback on Casa Palombia in Playa Flamingo, as well as info on Playa Flamingo in general.
Casa Palombia online pictures look great, but I've read that the house isn't maintained very well. If anyone has insight on the house or area (pros/cons), I'd be grateful! I understand that Playa Flamingo is a smaller town, although there is now much construction. Is it still a nice place to vacation? |

I stayed at the Flamingo Beach Resort this summer. I also spent a week living with a Costa Rican Family while taking spanish classes a few years ago. The beach is nice the town is torn up. It is very tiny (maybe two blocks) and a good chunk of it was torn down to build condos and shops. There are beautiful views of the ocean.
It is a long ride to really do anything. The most fun is going to Rincon de La Vieja. You can go diving. I have been snorkeling twice from that area and saw nothing. Not much in the way of restaurants unless you have a car and want to drive but I wouldn't drive at night so you would have to eat dinner around 4-4:30 to get back to Flamingo from Brasalito possibly. There are a couple of small restaurants in Potrero.
