hi guys

well i booked my ticket from manila to puerto princesa! yay!

Just wondering now about accomodation. My gf and i would really like to stay at a hotel or resort that has a beach front. Is this possible on a budget of just say 2500 peso per night? Reason i ask is because i've been searching for hotels in palawan and all i can find is Dos Palmas and amanpulo, which are both very expensive. Also, is it possible that this hotel be in PP city? Or is this too much to ask.

Also, after reading through this forum, it seems Honda Bay is the place to visit. From what i gather, you hire a boat from the wharf to get there for around 1000 to 1500 peso. I'm just wondering how far Honda Bay really is by boat? How long does it take to get to the islands?

OK last question haha. Are there good beaches in PP city itself? Or are there good beaches near the city?

Thanks for your help guys. Replies would be much appreciated.

Whitin the city op PP there is no beachfront hotel nor resort. Altough PPcity has a beach, Pristine white beach located on Abuegroad. So find an accomodation on the site www.palawantourism.com and take a tricicle to the beach. There are also a few budged resorts on Hondabay duchess beachside cottages web www.duchesspensionpalawan.com and tarabanancottages also on Hondabay www.tarabanan.de Both are 60 km nort of PPcity ,and there is a brandnew road.

Taking off from the replies above, Pristine Beach is one of 3 "resorts" near PP airport, the other 2 being Silica and Nasin-aw. However, the sand is not as white as Boracay's, more of light brown (I think I have a photo in my PP page). There's a P10 fee for the use of the picnic huts.

For sure you will enjoy PP the same way I did on my recent trip. Puerto Pension could be the answer to your posting on accommodation. It's native, very homey, and staff are quite good. Per night is inexpensive and less than Php2500 per night you mentioned. Breakfast is included in the price. Food is above average. Puerto Bay is just at the back of the Pensionm very nice view. PP City Centre is walking distance. You may arrange your tour with the reception but if you prefer to have a personal tour guide just let me know or email me. I highly recommend my tour guide. You may experience with him all kinds of beaches, snorkeling, dolphin watching and what have you. Very personalize service and lunch is provided.
Have a safe and memorable trip to Puerto Princesa.

hi guys, thanks for your replies.

These "cottages" that u mention on Pristine beach, are they accommodation or are they just for people to stay there for a day?

I did some more research and came across Princessa Holiday Resort and Coco loco island resort. Are either of these places good? Trouble with these places is they are far from the city, and i am worried that i need to be in the city in order to commute to places such as the Underground river. Princessa holiday resort is 75km south of the city, is there good transport going there, like a trike and how much would it cost?

So there are no other places besides Dos Palmas that offer a beachfront near PP?

I checked out duchess pension, but i think i would prefer a place a bit more expensive.

sorry guys for the annoying questions haha

The "cottages" at Pristine are picnic huts and not suitable for overnight accommodation.

If you're looking for a more expensive place, try Fleur-de-lis or the Legend Palawan. I think the former is better and more modern.
