Monterosso al Mare Boat from Monterosso to Portofino
Posted: Mon November 12, 2007 06:47 AM UTC
How much does the boat cost from Monterosso to Portofino. What is the name/website of the boat company?

I have heard you can train it to SML and then take bus to Portofino but I thought boat might be nice. That is if it isn't too expensive!

It is for 1 adult and 1 child Monterosso to Portofino and return to Monterosso

Thanks for the help

when do you think you'll go there?
I believe there is a service only on Sunday (maybe more during Summer), from Monterosso to Santa Margherita it's short by train, different trains during the day, not only one. Have a walk at Santa Margherita, it's nice.

there you could find anyone who take you to Portofino, I don't know how much, sure pretty expensive.

Took a long time to find it but I knew it was there somewhere - here is the website for the local ferry.

http://www.navigazionegolfodeipoeti.it/

The dates on the English page are out of date so you might need to try the Italian page. Hope this helps. The service will not begin again until March 16, 2008.

Ciao, I gave a look at the site in italian cited by katymof. But they have a service limited in the Cinque Terre area.

Take a look instead at this:
www.traghettiportofino.it/eng/linee.html
there is no a direct connection, but you can change boat (and add a nice stop) in another town along the coast.
I know well that coast (I have a house in Rapallo), and I suggest you Sestri Levante (the "Baia del silenzio" - silent bay- is breathtaking).

Ciao,
marco

I used the one I mentioned above (http://www.navigazionegolfodeipoeti.it/ ) last summer and was able to go straight from Monterosso to Portovenere without changing boats. The ticket was 18 euro and it was hop on/hop off.

I am sure about kathymof use of the boat as she said; I just underline that Porto Venere (a very nice place Eastward of Monterosso) is not the same of Portofino (a very nice place but Westward of Monterosso) ;-)
Ciao.
