We are visiting Gib at the end of November for 4 days. We want to hire a car - and have been quoted from £54 - £82 from different companies for the same type of vehicle. One company include a cross border card in the price. As we want to go into Spain from Gib - can anyone tell me if it is necessary to have this card or can we drive into Spain in a hire car without it??

As you've quoted prices in ££'s i assume you are from the UK. No you do not need a cross border card whatever one of those is , but you do have to show your passport/s. Depending what time of day you plan to leave Gibraltar you may have to spend an hour or longer in the queue so bear that in mind. As for the price of the hire car visit www.travelsupermarket.com for the best prices,

The only documents you would need would be the vehicle insurance (green card) and the hire contract. I have never ever heard about a Cross Border Card, and I was born and lived all my life in Gib.
