We are visiting Lake Como for Christmas and will not be arriving at Bergamo airport until lunchtime on Christmas Eve. Will we be able to find shops and restaurants open on Christmas Eve or Christmas Day? How long are most businesses closed for over Christmas?

Possibly open Dec 24 - could close early.
Closed Dec 25 and 26 and Jan 1st. These are all Public Holidays.

you'll find restaurants open for lunch for dinner on Christmas Eve and/or on Christmas Day but not for dinner, most will close has they've been quite busy. You'd better book in advance, especcially for Xmas luch, otherwise you won't find anywhere to go, just pizza and snacks.
