I was reading on this web site, the bad thing of Bahrain is taxi, people get rip off. I was thinking of visiting Bahrain Jan 2008, I don't drive. Taxi will be best thing for me. I don't want to get rip of what advise do you have for me???

Do also the Bahrain bus work all over Bahrain??

No bus service over here .... Taxi is expensive here but we have private taxi companies (Bah Lino Taxi tele is: 17266266) and (Speed Taxi Tele is: 17682999) you can call them and book a taxi, they charge u on miles and time and its ok the price they dn't rip u off at all..

The numbers from Patchi are very useful, just one thing to remember. If you need a taxi during busy hours you better book at least one day in advance otherwise you will not t get a taxi with these companies.

Another thing you could do is to ask someone you know if they know about someone working extra as private taxi. There are quite a lot of them and my experience is that they have more or less the same price as the two companies mentioned above, perhaps even less if you negotiate hard. Many of the security people working in office or residence buildings usually have a friend or two that they can call if you ask them. But make sure that you know the price for the ride before using this kind of taxi.

yes its true the private taxi they are cheaper example if the taxi company take 5 bds the private to the same place will take 3 bds, i can find you some numbers if you want :) ciao
