Hi
I have stayed at Bethel Village in July 2007 and will return this month. I can not speak highly enough of Joel Amos and his family. You will arrive as a guest and leave as a friend. The hospitality is incredible and the whole experience is so much better than having a resort-only holiday. The accommodation is basic. But very clean, new and comfortable. Having said that though, there are 4 showers and as many toilets, washing machine and dryer. The generators are turned on at night and the walkways are lit by hurricane lamps. The grounds are lovely and well kept. The food is fabulous island style cuisine. You get the opportunity to prepare food in the traditional way, tour the working gardens and much more. Close by is some spectactular snorkelling spots. I could go on forever. I can't wait to return, so that I can once again feel a part of such a wonderous place. To anyone considering a round island tour, I say...spend a night or 2 at Bethel instead. You will still get the tour because Joel will give you a running commentary on the way around the island and you will get so much more from this experience. The return trip can be as little as 1.5 hrs. They dropped us at the airport with time to spare. Any questions I will gladly answer.
