I read that the polers eat almost just fish , what I would like to know is if we go into the delta with the Makorros can I take my fishing rod with me ? A friend told me that thet polers quickly catch a couple of fish for their supper. You get a poler to take yoy on bush walks and bird watching , can mine take me fishing ?

I doubt they'd have a problem with that. You might want to contact the lodges who organize the trips so they can maybe find you a specific guide or at least let the guide know what you're looking for. I'm not sure they all catch fish, maybe that was our guide, who subsisted mostly on tea and fried dough... but anyway, he had no fishing gear.
