Not renting a car. One poster suggested Super Shuttle. Any other ideas on best way to get there from SFO airport?

Never done it myself, but you can take the BART _south_ (most people go north from SFO) to the Millbrae station and transfer to CalTrain and onto Palo Alto. From there, there are buses and the free Stanford shuttles, or you can just walk a block or so to Downtown Palo Alto.

I was going to suggest the same as the previous poster - use public transportation. Perhaps you can arrange pickup from the train station in Palo Alto.

From SFO take the airport circuit train to the BART station. Then BART for the one stop south to Millbrae; then take Cal Train to PA.

The BART/Caltrain ride could take you forever, depending on when you arrive. If you fly in on a weekend, you should take the shuttle, unless the cost is going to keep you from buying dinner. If you fly in during peak commute hours, the train runs relatively frequently.

We probably will take the shuttle, as my wife's company will likely pay for it.
