Haifa Bahai Gardens tour in Haifa

Shalom! how are you all?

I have a question regarding the "famous" guided tour of the Gardens. I read in the VT forum and in others that you *had* to make reservations for a tour and just for one area and well in advance.

Now I'm at http://www.tour-haifa.co.il/eng/modules/article/view.article.php/c14/59/p0 and they say, I quote: "It is possible to visit three areas of the Bahai Gardens without making an appointment" and that "if you want you can take part in a guided tour...".

So now I see there's no such "obligation" in hiring a tour, which I thought there was. Is this so? One can go and visit the gardens all alone?

thanks a lot, kind regards

I was there several times, in all the 3 areas and never took the guided tour. Unless things have changed the last year you can just walk in. There is one part you might have a problem getting into, the inside of the shrine, as it closes around noon. Anyway, even if it close, it is not a gerat loss. The inside is not that impressive.

There is one part which closes at noon and you have to reserve in advance to go in (for the off-season, 24 hours in advance is enough). I don't know whether or not it includes a guided tour, but it's free anyways. Call +972-4-831-3131 (in Israel: (04) 831-3131) for reservations - English, Hebrew and Arabic (and maybe one other language). For more information, here is a link to the official web site of the Gardens: http://terraces.bahai.org/visiting.en.html

If you are talking about the shrine, I've been in there several times and never reserved in advance.
