I cannot get a straight answer on this one. We will be on cruise and in Egypt for just one day. Cruise line has given me 2 different answers. :( Any help?

Visa required.

However, a 30 days' visa can be obtained on arrival provided:
- coming for touristic purposes; or
- coming for other purposes, if arriving from a country
without Egyptian representation or in emergency cases (left
to discretion of Immigration Authorities).
Fee: USD 15.- or equivalent.

And why should you get a straight answer from your fellow travellers who are using the same resources available to you, i.e. looking up what it says on the internet about Egyptian visa requirements! Thanks. I did call the consulate. They said yes but were not sure if cruise line would do this for us. I guess I was hoping a fellow traveler had recently taken a similar cruise and could let me know their experience. :0
