| Jerusalem | Some Question regarding Jerusalem... Posted: Mon November 5, 2007 02:24 AM UTC
Sorry for bothering everybody again. I will be travelling from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem a few days later, and I hv some questions...
1. My will stay in Inn Hotel which is located at Horkanos St. What bus route should I take from Jerusalem Central Bus Station? I expect to arrive at Jerusalem at around 6-7 pm. 2.What is the weather in Jerusalem now? Will it be too chilly, dry or rainy? 3. What souvenir do u suggest to buy? Small one is better, cause I don't want to carry too many on my back. Cheaper is better of cause. And where should I look for? |

I've never heard of that hotel - it must be a very small hostel or something, but it is smack in the center of downtown Jerusalem (it is one of the side streets across from Zion Square, next to the Russian Compound - ask for "Migrash Harusim", so practically any bus from the central bus station will get you there. In fact, Horkenos is a little street right off Jaffa Road, which is the street where the bus station is located. If you don't have a lot of luggage, you could walk it in 10-12 minutes. Just exit the bus station and walk straight down Jaffa Street to "Kikar Zion."

About the weather, today it's HOT (real, summer hot). Later this week they are predicting that temperatures will drop a little, with the possibility of rain. Nights are cooler: You might need a long sleeve or light jacket.

I will suggest at you go by taxi from the central bus station because of the distance of 2,3 km according to http://www2.emap.co.il/eng_index.asp

1. Horkanos St is the center of town. Practically any of the buses from the Central Bus Station will get you there. Best would be no. 13,18, 20, 23. You can get off at Kikar Zion. It is a 2 minute walk from there.
2. The weather currently is comfortably cool with some light rains predicted. As Gila said, a long sleeve shirt or light for early morning, late evenings. 3. Souvenirs are many and varied. If you have a sense of humor one of the cutest is a sardine type tin with the words "Air from Jerusalem" on it. Otherwise you will find many, many 'bazaars' (small shops) on Ben Jehuda street and even more tourist shops. The choice is too wide to begin to try suggest anything w/o knowing you or the recipients! There are also some nice inexpensive olive wood souvenirs available in the Old City. Welcome and have fun!
