Hi

I have been trying to work out the train times for our holiday and it seems there is no train for that time. I was planning on going from Turin to Borgosesia on the 8th January. The train runs now but when i put in the 8th there says there is no train. Is it too early or is there really no train?

If not does anyone know how I can get there?

It is too early. As a general rule, train schedules in Western Europe aren't guaranteed more than 60 days out. In this case, the HAFAS database is undergoing an update in the first half of December (Dec. 13th? - I forget the exact date), so there are no guarantees on trains after that point until they make the update.

However, as you suspect, train schedules normally don't change a whole lot over the year, so if you look at the schedules of the same day of the week that you want to travel but in the next week or so, you will see that there are a number of solutions per day with trains or bus/train combinations, mostly changing in Novara.

Note that the solution will be with regional trains on which you can't get reservations, so there is no point in getting tickets in advance...just show up and go ;-)
