Hi
My travelling companion and I shall be in Rotterdam On Nov 12 and 13 stopping at the Maritime hotel.What must we see!Karen is a vegeterian,any suggestions?

You will find vegetarian dishes on most menus.
There is very good falafel stand on Binnenwegplein which is about 10 minute walk from your hotel.

Or cross the Erasmusbridge near your hotel and eat at Hotel New York, that's the old Holland America Line headquarters building with the two green towers across the river on your right (as seen from your hotel).
Do a Spido river boat tour, they dock 5 minutes from your hotel.

Explore the old grand Scheepvaartkwartier. Your hotel is situated on the eastside of this quarter so simply walk west along the river to Euromast and back through the park, then Parklaan, many restaurants too.

Anyway, I know the city very well because I worked there and live quite near, so my answer is bound to be too long. Probably best to check out our Rotterdam pages!

PS Some vegetarians do eat fish. Does Karen?

Karen will be pleased about the falafel.She had a delicious one outside Amsterdam railway station last year.She does not however eat fish.
