G'day,
My girlfriend and I will be traveling to Finland in late March next year where we will be there for a few days. Was wondering if any locals of other travelers who have been there would recommend turku or tampere as a destination. We will be in Helsinki but we would also like to check out other cities in Finland. Which one is better or would anyone recommend? We will only have enough time to go to one or the other. Fair enough.
IS it as good trip by train from Helsinki to Turku? Or would anyone else suggest another mode of transport?

As you have girlfriend already better go to Turku, it is more of the romantic kind ;-)
Tampere is more for the nightlife and party city. And yes, use the train, very easy connection. And, well, I wouldn't recommend Kotka or Hanko unless it is a nice summer days, in the winter they are like dead cities.
