| Puerto Vallarta | Looking for a unique HOTEL / CONDO / Accommodations with KITCHEN Posted: Sat November 3, 2007 11:10 PM UTC
We will be traveling to Puerto Vallarta in Jan. and are looking for a unique, perhaps local, place to stay for a week. We'd like to be on the beach and would like to spend under $80 per day. And we want to have a kitchen. We'd love to find something a little bit different from the big name hotels. Any ideas?

I'm not aware of a place on the beach with kitchen at that price in PV. The big name hotels are primarily in the Hotel strip just south of the airport and north of downtown. Anything you get outside that area will be more unique. I would suggest a small new boutique hotel called Casa Quixote in Gringo Gulch in Centro. www.casa-quixote.com. I think you could get one of there studio apartments for that price with a nice kitchen, roof top pool, etc. about 6 blocks from the beach. They only have four units. Also in centro there is the Hotel Rio and the Hotel Encino, small hotels that may have a few kitchens - not sure about rates. In what is called Old Town, but isn't, about 3 blocks from the beach the hotel San Carlos on Constitucion is an old style Mexican Hotel, clean with large rooms and suites with kitchens in that price range. Hotel rooms on the beach without kitchenettes in that price range might be the Rosita-north of the Malecon in Centro, the MarSol on Los Muertos beach has some kitchens-an older very noisy hotel, the Gaviota also Los Muertos beach on Madera.

I know that "Starbay Suites resot" or "Starbay Boutique resot" has kitchenettes and at the beach, but is like 25 drive from Puerto Vllarta, in Bucerias, the price depends on the dates, we are staying there for 78dllr. so check prices online. I got that price using expedia.com
