| Tamarindo | Unsafe swimming conditions? Posted: Fri November 2, 2007 08:34 PM UTC
I am travelling to Tamarindo on Monday! EEK!!!
I just read online that it is unsafe to swim due to high levels of sewage being dumped in the water. Can anyone confirm this? Also, if anyone has any suggestions as to other good beach party spots in and around Liberia, I would be forever grateful. Sam |

If it is not safe to swim in the sea, it won't be safe to have a beach party.

You might want to go to Playa Hermosa or Playa del Coco. I would pick Playa del Coco. It is even closer to the Liberia airport than Tamarindo.

The beach has not yet been closed, but some businesses have been shut for dumping directly into the sea. From my understanding the high levels were measured a specific point sources, and the overall beach has not <yet> been affected. For alternative surfing beach - Playa Grande. For general hanging out on the beach, party - Flamingo
