It depends on your nationality, apparently Americans can't get an instant visa at Lo Wu but other nationalities can - however, I would strongly advise you to check with the Chinese Embassy where you live, it would be annoying to get there and be turned back!

Hi!
I'm from the Philippines, will I be able to get a China Visa at the border and how much? I read before somewhere that it cost RMB100 for a week stay in china, is this true?

I think you will find accomodation is a little bit more than 100RMB per week. Especially if you are after any sort of comfort. Most midrange hotels cost between 400-600RMB per night. Of course backpacker accomodation will be cheaper but 20RMB per night may be pushing it

I agree. 100 RMB/week for accommodation?! That's really too low (even for hostel dorms) for Guangzhou. Did you perhaps mean 1000 RMB/week, or 100 RMB/day?
If you're seriously on a tight budget, try looking on CouchSurfing (http://www.couchsurfing.com) or Hospitality Club (http://www.hospitalityclub.org).

Hi there! When I said RMB100 for a week stay I meant the cost of the visa for a 1 week duration stay not the accomodation, now i understand that if i get a visa there at Lo Wu i can only stay for 5 days. sorry for the confusion :(
