Forum Question Posted By: Replies:
Angeles City Angeles/Pinatubo, Banaue-Manila and Manila-El Nido (Palawan)

Hi, I will be visiting the Philippines and I have some practical questions:

1) Do you have tips for a place to stay in Angeles (from where I can book a Pinatubo tour/trek)? And should I arrange this trek in advance? (I would like to do the trek directly the day after we arrive in Angeles)
2) We will go directly from Manila airport (after arrival) to Angeles, probably it's best to take a taxi? Is it correct that it will cost about 2000-2500 PHP?
2) Do you know if there's a direct bus from Banaue to Manila and if so, do you know something about the departure time?
3) Do you know if there's a flight from Manila to El Nido on Palawan?

Thanks in advance for any helpful information!

Maybe Swagman Travel can help you. They have offices in several cities including Manila and Angeles City.

There is a Swagman Hotel in Angeles. Swagman also picks up at the airport but I don't know the times. The "Swagman" pick up from the airport MAY be free if you book with their hotel, check with them first though! Check their webpage for more info on Mt. Pinatubo.

Where to stay in Angeles - well how much do you want to spend per night" ABC Hotel price range or something cheaper?

Swagman Hotel is cheaper but it also looks cheaper! I use the America, usually the price is around 800 - 950 pisos.

Yes it would be best to take a taxi from the airport, not just sure about the fare (90% u'd be getting an airport taxi which costs much than a regular one-- and not sure if regular taxis would be happy to take you that far)

There are direct buses to Banaue, these can be found in Espana, Manila. For safety and convenience, take the Victory Liner bus. Buses going to Banaue (and i mean most bus lines) leave usually at 10pm (be there early for ticketing. Google them (its easier hehe)

There are only 2 airlines that fly MNL-ELN. I would not suggest ITI as it costs too damn much (P6000/head). SEAir flies to ELN 3 times a week (last month they do Tuesday-Thursday-Saturday flights). It's a charter plane (16 seater i think).

Might do the Pinatubo trek sometime soon! Happy Traveling!

Margarita station in Angeles (www.margarita-station.com) can help you to find a decent hotel as well as offer you transport from the airport to Angeles City. You can get Banaue transport information at www.NativeVillageInn.com, including names and schedules of bus companies.

SirHalberd & All,

I just came back from Angeles about 3 days ago and each time i pass by Swagg it seems to be closed. Not too sure if they are up for business at their outlet along Fields.

Margarita Station is good for meals but rooms wise i will not personally take their advise.

Hotels in Angeles can range from P350 to PXXX. Depending for what you want to stay. I suggest go for a room somewhere at P1000 to P1500. If you are really on tight budget go for Wobbly pension in which rooms for P350 (only 1 bed with a fan). You can check out my angeles page to get all the contact number of hotels and places to stay.

Also on my page i have found out the way to get to and from Airport to Angeles via jeepney. Check it out.

Have a great time in Angeles because I did.
