| Leeds | Cheap places to stay Posted: Wed October 31, 2007 10:42 AM UTC
Hi,
Does the Leeds area have a backpackers hostel? If not, could anybody recommend a budget place to stay. Thanks for your help. |

It's unlikely the uni will have rooms to let during term-time though.
Some of the other hostels mentioned online are either closed or not for tourists (i.e. they are probabtion/bail hostels etc). Read this page: http://www.hostel-escapes.com/news/latest/leeds_youth_hostel/ Use the search engine on the official tourist info website to see if you can find suitable accommodation where you want to be in Leeds: http://www.leeds.gov.uk/Leisure_and_culture/Touris Or consider staying York instead; fairly easy to travel betwen the two cities, and there is definitely hostel accommodation there.

I agree with staying in York but I'm biased :))) If you do, there are a couple of hostels up the Micklegate end of the city centre (a lot nicer than the IYHA way out at Clifford). But do you have a specific reason for visiting Leeds? There are buses and trains between the two but of course if you need to spend lots of time in Leeds it is better to stay there - or even in Bradford which would be cheaper to reach Leeds from I guess. I'm afraid I don't know what Leeds' hostels are like.
