Punta Arenas Location of Hotel Diegro de Almagro
Posted: Tue October 30, 2007 09:46 PM UTC
Hi, hope someone can help with a basic question. We'll be in Punta Arenas in a a couple of weeks and have a reservation at the Hotel Diegro de Almagro. Since our stay will be brief we want to stay somewhere central to downtown, but we can't quite work out where the hotel is as I can't find it on the only street map I have. The address is Colón 1290.

Any feedback on this hotel is much appreciated

Thanks,
Lisa

If you look at the map you will see Av Colon. It is the horizontal road with the green center island in the middle. To the far right you will see Ap Hotel Colonizadores. That is the 1100 block. The next block to the right would be 1200 where your hotel is. I don't know the hotel personally, so I can't say what the location is like. The Diego de Almagro hotels are a chain of good, middle of the road hotels much used by local businessmen.

The hotel is at the end of Colon right on the water. it is brand new inaugurated just a few months ago. i haven't stayed but did do a site inspection and quite enjoyed the property. there is a indoor pool. all of the rooms are big and nice and identical, the only difference is if you have a view of the straight of magellan which is based on luck although you may be able to request it. you'll be about a 10 minute walk from the central plaza so not too far away. enjoy.
