we stayed at a hotel just outside the side entrance of the main railway station - Astoria i think it is called - very good value clean rooms good breakfast - near hard rock cafe- tivoli gardens - just a short walk from a shopping area and further from that is the harbour- also quite near a military museum which kept on going onwards and upwards and was a real good ete opener - near the national museum also - we took a train to malmo in sweden which didnt take long or cost too mush either
have fun anyway Julie

Try www.apartmentsapart.com. I've booked weekend apartments from twice and been very pleased. You'll pay about 100 euros/night but save a lot on meals.
