I'm wondering if there are any reputable excursion companies in/around plovdiv that offer day trips for larger groups (broad age range) at competitive prices? I'll be there next October and our Hotel in Hissarya seems to be offering us great rates but I want more options. Thanks!

What kind of excursions do you need?
Usually tourist offices (there are plenty of them in Bulgaria but I saw more on the sea coast) put their announcements and programmes in the street. The prices are of the same level, do not vary so much

The excursions would vary in their focus, something for active people, for shoppers, for historians and maybe another option blending some of those activities.
We need day and 1/2 day excursions, nothing really adventurous. Some of the options I was thinking of was a tour of old Plovidv, another to bachkovo monastary, something with a moderate hike. Things like that.
The main thing we would need are buses to transport us. The total group size is about 250 - 300.
Any ideas for bus companies?

IMHO there is no need to such tour,. Plovdiv is not so big. We did the old part by ourselved and do not regret at all.
For Bachkovo monastery, there are many bus companies going there. The start point is bus station (avtogara in Bulgarian) 'Rodopy'. Buses go every 30 or 40 minutes and the way takes about 45 minutes.
