Can anyone recommend a decent budget hotel near New Delhi station. Are there any first class waiting rooms at the station and would you recommend them for an overnight stay for a family.

Relax Hotel is quite fine. About 15 € a room. 10 minutes walk to the station.

There are hundreds of decent hotels in Paharganj which starts just opposite the road when you exit New Delhi Rwstation. If you arrive before 10pm, the market will still be busy and it is quite safe to go there. But you are better off if you can book a hotel ahead. Take any guide book and look under Paharganj. If you can't find any, PM or mail me (if that is possible here). It is not a good idea to stay overnight at Rw, even though you can if you like. First class only though, if you have a first class onward ticket. But Hotels are just a few steps away.
It is best to go to Paharganj, not by taking a cab at the Rw station, but to cross the road outside on foot, and then take a cycle Rickshaw, because both cars and Autorickshaws are not allowed to enter there (it is so busy). I normally take a Rickshaw for the luggage, and walk at the side/behind watching the luggage. Enjoy India.

Hotel Parkway Deluxe 8591, Main Qutab Road New Delhi Phone 0091-11-23531125 Recently I booked this hotel for my friends who will be coming from outside India in December, that is why I know the phone No. and address etc. Tariff is Deluxe Room 1200/- Rs. and Std.
