Hi We are heading to the Gold Coast in March and are staying at the grand apartments, has anyone stayed there before.Also what are some good things to do over there with a 3yr and 12yr old. Do we need to hire a car.

there is plenty to do on the Gold Coast, Currumbin Sanctuary, Seaworld, Dreamworld would suit both ages, the weather should be good for the beach, if you go to a water park remember there are heaps of stairs so may not suit the 3yo.
I would always hire a car, as you than will not spend your time waiting for transport, and you will be able to visit many more places. There are a couple of car hire places just off the Gold Coast airport as well as the usual ones at the airport There is a good bush walk around the Burleigh headland right in the middle of the coast.
