Todi Public Transportation from Siena to Todi
Posted: Wed October 24, 2007 12:10 AM UTC
Hello - we are planning a week in Umbria (probably in Todi) and wonder if anyone has experience with public transport from Siena to Todi. I know the train goes there, but there seems to be a lot of stops and it takes over 4 hours. Is there a bus that is more direct? We are mulling over not keeping our rental car for the week in Umbria - does anyone have advise on this. Is it advisable to keep the car. Has anyone stayed in Todi? What about parking? does anyone know anything about bike rentals in Todi and whether they have helmets (or do we need to pack our own). Thanks.

We've stayed in Umbria and we appreciated our car. You might want to keep it for the week. There are buses but I don't know the schedules. We had no trouble parking as most towns and villages have a large parking lot directly outside the town where you can either walk in or take a bus.

Another option you could consider is renting a motor scooter. Many of the towns have scooter rentals and they zip all over the countryside. Don't know when you're going but if the weather is nice, that might be fun.

Hi!
We are back from Umbria and were in Todi last wednesday. The region is mostly countryside with little villages uphill. A car is a good solution to visit Umbria.
We had 5 days of sunshine, 2 days of rain and one cloudy.
We slept in an agritourismo between Assisi and Perugia. It was perfect.
If you need other informations , feel free to ask.
Bye
