I am planning on bringing a group to Novgorod in late November and I was wondering which of these two restaurants would be better for dinner: Hol'mgard or Detinets? I prefer an old charming restaurant that would impress my group, but I am open to your opinion. Any help is appreciated!

Thanks, Lev, for the information and opinion! My tour operator in Russia sent me the below message today so I wanted some objective advise. I originally picked the Detinets restaurant because of its old world charm. Do you have any idea why they are offering to change it? They say that the Hol'mgard restaurant is the most famous in Novgorod.

"I need to get your opinion concerning with the dinner at restaurant «Detinets», I can offer you to change it for restaurant «Hol’mgard» (without any supplements), it’s the most famous restaurant located in the city center of Novgorod and the service is much better than in «Detinets», please advice."
