i saw some suggestion of staying at tangkou instead of tunxi but is there any recommendations for a decent place to stay in tangkou? and is it possible to leave my luggage at the hotel/hostel at tangkou while i spend 2 days on huangshan? thanks!!!

No specific recommendations for a place to stay at Tangkou, but yes it's possible to leave your luggage at wherever you stay while you go up the mountain -- usually for free.
