Hi,
Will be in Penang for 3 days & 2 nights during December.
Wish to stay in such a place which is near to night-life areas ( discos, night-clubs, partying, etc).
Budget is arround USD 75/= per night for a double-room.
Please advise.

Hi Anrep,

Continental Hotel superior room double with 2 breakfast RM108 nett (US35). The hotel is just a stone throw away to a lot of pubs, bars and disco. Excellent location for Nightlife and food, in addition to that is close to all historical enclaves.

BUT! The online booking doesn't seem to work, coz it's always fully booked right up to next year! I strongly suggest you sent email to request for booking or call them directly to make a reservation.

Of course with your budget of US75 per night, you can always go for:

1)Cititel Hotel

or

2)City Bayview

Both these hotels are only a short 5 mins walk to all the nightlife, pubs and bar.

for the budget of usd 75, i would go for shangrila.....
shangrila have got the best service in hotel industry.
located in the center of georgetown
walking distance to nightspots(10 mins)

not sure about the price for e&o, might be a bit more expansive but worth the price
located within crawling distance to nightspots

The Shangri-La in Georgetown is renamed as Traders. It has the best location in Penang. Best for shopping, next to 2 main shopping malls.

Avoid Dorsett Hotel (commonly known as ex-Sheraton Penang). Rooms were good but location is way off in Georgetown. Far from all the action like Gurney etc. Service was not up to ex-Starwood Standard as well.
