| Podgorica | Travelling by train Belgrade to Podgorica Posted: Mon October 22, 2007 06:59 PM UTC
I am planning to travel by train from Belgrade to Podgorica on the 4th November. The train leaves belgrade at 1010 and arrives at Podgorica at 1740.
I understand the scenery is very beautiful on this journey, however, I am worried because of the lack of daylight we will miss much of it. Is this the case and would I be better off catching an overnight train? Any advice would be greatly appreciated. |

Traveling by our train is like a great, exiting adventure. In the train you can meet a lot of poeple to drink with them, to get fight and so on...A railway from Belgrade to Podgorica, or just a part of railway which passing trought montenegro is like a world wonder. It has a 250 or more tunels, and you are always like 300 m above the ground.that railway is most dangerous and most beeautiful in Europe. Daylight is not specialy interesting, but yes, its better than a night train trip (because in night train you might sleep on sits like I do), and trains are not very clean, and they are very old and uncared. And you have sleeping cars, but I don't recommend that, just take a train in 1010 from Belgrade and you will enjoy. You will be traveling 9 hours or more (450km). Return ticket is 35 euros from Novi Sad to Podgorica, and 30 euros from Belgrade to Podgorica. From Podgorica you can always catch a train to see town: Sutomore and from there everywere on montenegrian coast. Or you can travel by bas to Budva.
Nice trip!
