Easter Island Accommodation, Easter Island

I will be visiting Easter Island for three days and nights late March/early April 2008. Can anyone recommend a modest (2/3 star) hotel or good guest house. I'm looking for somewhere placed cental enough to enable me to see as much as possible of the island in a limited period.

Highly recommend Residencial Tahai; we stayed a couple odf days and were very satisfied.
See for more info and pics; http://members.virtualtourist.com/vt/tfr/1/946/3/16dde9/

Hanga Roa (the only village on the island) and some very interesting moai are on walking distance. To see/explore the island I recommend taking at least one guided tour !!

happy travels

I was in Easter Island 2 years ago and I really enjoyed my stay at the Hotel O'Tai, with 20 rooms, right in the centre of the village, with very friendly staff and great breakfast with very enjoyable fresh juices. Room with breakfast is about US$ 80.00. Phone 100-250.

Easter Island is a fascinating place and everything is at hand. Besides the statues do have a look at the belly-botton of the World! All you can find in the restaurants (well, sort of) is freshly made cevice (raw fish with lemmon and onion). Otherwise there is only one quite nice restaurant which is called La Taverne du Pecheur. A must!

Hi,
I just wrote a review of Tahai Residencial. I recently stayed there, and I do NOT agree with the person who recommended it. I, and all of the other guests at that time, were treated very poorly. I have traveled extensively, and the treatment I received at Tahai R. was one of the worst experiences. For more details, see my review dated Feb.16.08.
Good luck. Easter Island is magical.
