Avignon visiting Nimes and environs-need advice
Posted: Fri October 19, 2007 02:16 AM UTC
Two of us are visiting that part of France this November- flying Ryanair into Nimes on a Monday night- would Nimes or Avignon be a better choice for decent pubs on a Monday night? How are Tuesdays? maybe visit Marseille for nightlife?
Montpellier? We will be driving and would love tio see the coast- what would you recommend since we will only be in the area three nights.
Many thanks
Mike

Have you looked at a map? For only three days/nights, I think you're being a bit ambitious. You don't want to spend all day sitting in the car. Montepellier is quite a distance and French roads are not usually fast going in that part of France. After your first evening in Nimes, I'd drive to the more interesting area of Provence.. Arles, Les Baux, St. Remy and Avignon if you have time. If you go to Marseilles and the coast, you will really not have all that much time but some people enjoy just driving and looking. It's beautiful.. have fun.

There is a very nice pub in rue des teinturiers / Avignon or the nearby "Au coins des halles" 4, Rue Grivolas. But I am not sure if they open on mondays.
